Diophenyl-T
Phenylephrine Hydrochloride (5%) and Tropicamide (0.8%) Sterile Ophthalmic Solution.

Phenylephrine is a sympathomimetic drug which acts directly on the alpha-adrenergic receptors in the eye causing pupilary dilation and vasoconstriction. Tropicamide is an antimuscarinic agent which blocks the action of acetylcholine resulting in a relaxation of the sphincter muscle of the iris and the accommodative ciliary muscle of the lens resulting in dilation of the pupil (mydriasis) and paralysis of accomodation (cycloplegia).
